All my life I’ve been blessed with artistic talent. I love to draw and color the imagery I’m given, and at the very heart I’m a creator. My Bachelor’s degree is from Baylor University in Waco, TX, where I majored in Interdisciplinary Studies. I’ve spent the first decade of my career in education, because I love children and enjoy watching then learn and grow. I’ve never been able to leave the creator in me behind, however.
Shortly after my son was born I began dabbling in digital art. I found I had quite a knack for it, and quickly picked up skills in all the Adobe Creative Suite programs. I began my own blog site where I review books for teens, so that I could practice my new design skills while learning CSS and HTML. After being online for over a year, I was referred to a local company that manages content creation for clients. There I became a jack of all trades, designing everything from print media to presentations, websites, email newsletters, billboards, give aways….and even wrote content for magazines, newsletters, and websites as well.
These last few years I have been instructing high school students. I currently teach ninth through twelfth graders digital graphics and animation. This involves the whole animation process for both 2D media and 3D media. Students create original characters and animate them in digital programs like Adobe Flash and Autodesk Maya. Seeing the amazing work my students create inspires me to continue to invest time in their talents and future – and to continue to educate myself in these multi-faceted fine arts as well!
I hope you enjoy my portfolio, and I look forward to meeting you in the near future.
Blessings!
